In the world of music there’s mundane radio rock and the original. KOMATOAST is one of the originals. Inhabiting the worlds the Pink Floyd & Jim Croce, We bring to the table a music like no other. A soothing yet intense show of sounds and color, ranging from the sublime to the eclectic. Most of our show is original material so the audience doesn’t have to sit through another cover of “I shot the sheriff” or some other “burned to the ground” song everyone has done. The covers on our set list reflect a generation that has gone through a shift from child to parent. Songs by such classic artists as Dave Mathews, Jethro Tull & Jack Johnson to modern artist such as Jane’s Addiction, Tool & Placebo….But now I’ve told you 2/3 of the covers we do. Our strong point is our original material. J.C. writes for Komatoast & has received great reviews and comments on the songs. History

JC Maze started as a metal guitarist (15 yrs) in bands such as KRATCHET, SILENCE, & UNDERNEATH. After that he wanted to try something no one else was doing so he began the group OFF THE BEATEN PATH which was an acoustic group w/ JC on guitars & Backing vocals, Jen Lawson on vocals, Aaron Russell on bass and Dean Wildman on keyboards. After thr demise of OTBP in late 2003, JC moved to South Fla. and began recording his solo CD's MANGROVES & DEAD BODIES (2004) with the assistance of Aaron Russell. It was Recorded in Ga. & Fla. and is still doin' fine. IN A DIFFERENT LIGHT was released in 2005. Per production has now begun for a 2006 release for the 3rd CD called "The Hardest Of Septembers", look for snake peaks over the next year of rough, unmastered tracks from the 3rd CD.
