we love radiohead, and alt. rock/indie. we also dig hip-hop funk. fucked up sounds and experimentation is also good.
the sound of four young guys having a great time, making music that we enjoy playing and that people enjoy listening to.

Tired of Indie that sounds like Indie? Rock that sounds like rock? Punk that sounds like punk, or pop music with no balls? Try Submachine – the perfect tonic to a music scene that suffocates artists by pigeonholing their sound...
Submachine are a young, four-piece band based in Perth, who met at high school. We have been playing together for around 3 years, playing gigs around Scotland, in music bars and student unions, including a bizarre support slot to 80's pop diva, ‘Tiffany' (whom they insulted appropriately)
We are:
Paul Everett – Guitars, Piano, Vocals
Dave Macfarlane – Guitars, Piano, Backing Vocals
Stewart Todd – Bass
Grant Roper - Drums
Our influences are too numerous and contrary to list, but their sound meets halfway between their pop sensibilities, hip hop grooves, and their desire to make the soundtrack for the end of the world
"Colour in the Dark” is the second self-financed EP we have released (the follow up to 2003's ‘Stink of a Hero'.
Having studied Audio Engineering at Perth College, Dave took it upon himself to engineer and produce the cd, with Grant in the role of assistant engineer.
The cd was recorded during 2005 at Perth College (with help from fellow students), with additional recording with David Scherchen (one of the founders of Eastlake Audio) at his home studio, and also at Perths own Clearwater Studios, before finally being mixed and mastered at Daves house on pro-tools.
We are currently planning lots of gigs for the upcoming months with dates in Edinburgh and St Andrews already confirmed, with more to be announced soon. In the meanwhile we are writing and recording new material, with plans for a single/album release within the year.
